26th Annual Jefferson County African-American Cultural & Heritage Festival

The 26th Jefferson County African- American Cultural and Heritage Festival will be held on August 17 –19, 2018. The festival this year focus on the 100th anniversary of the ending of World War 1.

The Friday night program will consist of a gospel extravaganza at the Betty Roper Auditorium featuring the Chosen Vessels at 7pm. Also a youth Block Party will take place on the festival ground from 7 to 10pm. This party is being sponsored by the Jefferson County NAACP Youth Council.

The Saturday activities will include a parade beginning at 12 noon from West 3rd Ave in Ranson to the Festival ground located at 300 South Lawrence St. in Charles Town. Local school bands and independent marching units from Maryland will participate. The festival ground activities will include pony rides and moon bounce for the children, health fair, fashion highlights, food and craft vendors, public service vendors, demonstrations and music. Local talent will be displayed throughout the festival. The highlight will be the Signature Live Band in concert at 7pm.

The Sunday program will begin with an 8am Niagara Movement Pilgrimage at the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park followed by an Ecumenical Service at the Freewill Baptist Church in Harpers Ferry.
