Jefferson County Democratic Party Town Hall Meeting

Dear friends,

You are invited to a Town Hall meeting hosted by the Jefferson County Democratic Party on Sunday, February 25 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Charles Washington Hall (100 W. Washington Street, Charles Town, WV 25414).  The purpose of the event is to discuss how local residents and civic groups can work together to secure a more progressive future for our community in 2018 and beyond. The agenda for the event is as follows:

2:00 – 2:15 p.m.               Reception with local civic groups and candidates
2:15 – 2:35 p.m.               Welcome and overview of the Jefferson County Democratic Party
2:35 – 3:10 p.m.               Public comments – What are the top issues facing our community and state?
3:10 – 3:45 p.m.               Public comments – What tactics are needed to be successful in 2018?
3:45 – 4:00 p.m.               Summarize feedback and discuss next steps

Some of the key questions we hope to explore during the Town Hall include:

• What are the most pressing local and state issues where the Jefferson County Democratic Party should provide leadership and engagement?
• How can local progressive organizations work together more effectively to develop and achieve a vision for our community that reflects our common values?
• In the face of major electoral setbacks in 2014 and 2016, how would you like to see the Jefferson County Democratic Party operate differently in 2018?

While too many elected officials are unwilling to answer for their decisions or face their constituents, the Jefferson County Democratic Party wants to maintain an open dialogue with community members who are concerned that our county, our state, and our nation are heading in the wrong direction.
